Tearfund works through local churches and Christian agencies-partners- to open up brighter futures for the world's poorest communities. Together, helping people become all that God wants them to be.
And it's thanks largely to Christians in the UK and Ireland that this is possible. They rely on individuals and churches for 83 per cent of their income, and we ensure that the support reaches those who most need it, spending just 10 per cent on administration and fundraising.

Gideons International In 1899 three commercial travellers in the USA formed an association of Christian businessmen to encourage each other in their Christian faith and to spread knowledge of God through personal evangelism and united service for the Lord Jesus Christ. They chose the name Gideon’s after an Old Testament leader who, with a few chosen men, did a great work for God. Today, 150,000 Gideon members work in 176 countries placing a total of over 59 million copies of the Word of God annually as well as witnessing personally for Christ. Internationally over 1 billion scriptures have been presented.
Their objective is to share God’s message of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ by personal witness and through placing Bibles and New Testaments into people’s hands.
The Gideons became established in the British Isles in 1949. God has blessed the work of our National Association. To date over 30 million Gideon Bibles and Testaments have been presented nationally and there are 5,000 Gideons and their wives involved in the work across Britain.
They are a non-denominational extended missionary arm of the Christian church. They work closely with Christian churches, for it is through them that they draw their membership and their prayer and financial support . More info here at Gideons International website.

MAF is a dynamic worldwide partnership. Our purpose is to speed physical and spiritual care to people in places of deepest human need. Remote places where flying is not a luxury, but a lifeline.
For over 50 years, MAF planes have been serving countless thousands of men, women and children, bringing medical care, emergency food, and Christian hope. Serving as the air-arm of the church.
Today worldwide, the MAF partnership operates over 150 aircraft from bases in 30 countries.
Every four minutes an MAF plane is taking off on a mission of mercy. Enabling the work of aid and development agencies, missions, national churches and other local groups. Carrying their dedicated teams bringing healing and relief for body, mind and spirit.
Flying across deserts, jungles, mountains and swamps. Giving hope to far-flung communities which might take days or weeks to reach by land, where roads may be non-existent, or impassable for half the year.
MAF also provides communications and logistics services to mission communities. Find out more at the MAF website
